Regular exercise is necessary to your self improvement. You can keep your energy level up with regular exercise, a healthy diet, and getting a good night's sleep. This will give you the energy you need to be successful at your self improvement efforts. While this may sound like an easy thing to do, it can actually prove quite challenging at times.

Write a personalized affirmation. List the things that you love about yourself on a postcard. Carry this list with you at all times, and take it out when you need to pick yourself up. You can even record yourself reading it aloud and listen to it often. Why not?

One way to overcome anxiety is to go see a movie with a friend or family member. Movies are social settings, but they do not require conversation or uncomfortable socialization. This will help get you used to being in the same vicinity with lots of different people.

Do you drink a lot? Think about your other harmful habits, like smoking cigarettes. Our body is sacred, and we should respect it and treat it as so. Improve your life by eliminating unhealthy habits. Look at your lifestyle and what kind of habits you can eliminate.

Know what your strengths are, and be confident when promoting yourself. Each individual has his or her own unique qualities and skills. Our lives would not be nearly as wonderful if this were not true. Don't fret on the things you haven't mastered yet; rather focus on the positive attributes you possess.

It is impossible to make everyone happy; focus at least on making yourself happy. Think of yourself first, but don't step on others just to get what you want. When you are able to stay true to your beliefs and the things you value, then you will be happier with yourself and who you are.

Stop stressing the small stuff. Worrying is really imagining things that are not there, and why worry about something that hasn't happened? When you want to worry, just think of the worst thing that can happen, and form a plan of action to counter it. This provides you with the relief of having a game plan, so you can can feel less anxious and focus on other important matters in your life.

Don't allow buying sprees to become an emotional release. Shopping to make yourself feel better will only result in high bills, more stress and excess possessions that clutter your home and your life.

Remember to keep track of your progress along the way. By using the advice we have shared with you, you will be able to chart your course. Perhaps keeping a diary of what you are doing and how often, will assist you in seeing the changes that are occurring around you.
