Learning About Belize Connection And Facts About The Country

By Gwen Lowe

Belize is an English speaking country located in Central America. It is bordered by Guatemala, Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. The country used to be a territory of the United Kingdom, but now it is independent. Many tourists travel there every year, and many people from the United States and Canada choose to retire there. The website Belize connection shares a lot of information about the place and advertises many of its business services.

The country has nearly nine thousand square miles of land and a population of more than three hundred thousand as of 2013. This makes the lowest population density in all of Central America. The country has the second largest population growth rate in the region. There is an abundance of terrestrial land and many marine species in its diverse ecosystems.

The country produces many industrial minerals. Sugar is one of their main crops and accounts for half of all exports from the country. The banana industry is also significant, since it is the largest employer in the country.

The average yearly temperature there is around 84 F. Breezes from the Caribbean Sea as well as the jungle and rainforests help to keep the temperatures from getting too hot in the summer months. The winters tend to be very short as well, lasting from November to March. It is very rare for the temperature there to fall below 60 F. The dry season lasts between February and May which means lower rainfall in the country than the rest of the year.

The country was home to the Mayans many years ago. The Mayan lived there about three thousand years ago in the area known as the Yucatan Peninsula. They Mayans also lived in southeastern Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras. Many of them lived in small farming villages where they grew crops like corn, beans and peppers. A variety of languages developed during this period. Despite the European influence, the evidence of this culture still exists today.

The country also has a hurricane season, lasting from the beginning of June until the end of November, although statistically it does not get many major hurricanes or direct hits. There are also occurrences of severe tropical weather, causing high winds and heavy rain. However, the country does have safety measures in places for dealing with impending storms. Evacuation procedures help to save lives and minimize damage when there are hurricanes or tropical storms approaching.

Terese Fegan, who is a native of Belize, created the website on her own. She explains that she got the idea when she was searching for something constructive to do while using various social media sites. The website was developed when more of her friends and associates began reaching out to her in social media.

The website offers a lot of current information about the Government and politics of the country, its cuisine, and the different architectural styles that can be found there. There is also a marketplace section which has information about current rentals and resorts.
