Success In Life Is Personal

By Andrea D. Prescott

Have you ever wondered why some people seem to gain success in life while others seem to fail? What separates successes from failures? And, how can you achieve success in your own life? One of the biggest distinguishing factors between a successful life and a non-successful life lies within you. By shifting your mindset and then some of your daily habits, you can begin to get success in your own life. No matter what you are doing in your life, the following tips are the basic ingredients that are essential and are absolutely within your own sphere of behavior that will give you a guarantee towards attaining success.

The goals that we set for ourselves can come in all shapes and sizes. Some may seem small and some may seem outrageously ambitious in the eyes and minds of others. Whatever the size of the goal or whatever the goal is, when we accomplish it, it will equate to success no matter how big or small. If you feel that making tiny little steps is more of your nature, then set small goals for yourself in your life. A bucket full of small incremental successes is just as valid as reaching a long-term goal in larger steps. As a matter of fact, every long-term goal requires smaller short-term goals for them to ultimately come to fruition. That's just the way it works. We've all heard of the concept of the "overnight success", right?

There is no substitute for diligence. You can attend multitudes of conferences and listen to all the subject matter experts you want to, but if you persist to be lazy, you don't have what it takes to become a success in life (sorry about being so brutally honest). You may be a person of faith and you can pray to God for success all night long, but if you have lazy hands, you are destined for failure.

Stay focused. I want to stress this point as many people start out very enthusiastic and then lose their momentum. To achieve success in any area you need to stay focused on your goals and pursue them with tenacity.Learn from people who have achieved what you desire. Learn from the best but never compromise what you desire.Work at your goal. If what you are going for is really worth it then you will not mind working hard for it. If the effort needed to achieve your goals to be successful does not excite you then you need to ask yourself the question is this goal for you or are you trying to please somebody else.

I know the answer already, but let me ask the question anyway: Do you want to realize success in life? Who in his or her right mind is going to say he wants to be a failure, right. On the other hand, some people who answer yes in words say no by their actions. "Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth," the Bible says (Proverbs 10:4).Talk is cheap. Realizing success in life requires that we conscientiously do the things that enable us to avoid failure. And according to the verse above, lazy hands make one poor. Note that the verse is not job-specific. Lazy hands make one poor, no matter what the person's goal in life is. Similarly, "Diligent hands bring wealth," no matter what you aspire to do.

Exert more effort in what you are doing and make it better. In aiming to succeed you have to give everything your best. If your past has aggravating experiences, this time around you should have accomplishments, triumph and victory, and that is all because you did your best and you did everything that you could do to make it to the top.Believe in what you can do. Nobody else would start believing you but yourself. If you don't believe that you can do more that you can right now, who would? It is essential that you know yourself and up to what extent can you give, this way you will be able to evaluate your competencies in whatever task that will be given to you.Now that you know this, all you have to do is to keep these steps in mind and perform them accordingly. You may find some other principles that you can add in to make sure that you hit your target. But as soon as you are up there, do not forget to humble yourself, because that is what made successful people who they are right now, and you better remember all of these from now on.
