The 21st century has brought on a whole new set of challenges for many of us, bringing the infamous how to change your life topic to new and unexpected heights. To steal a line from one of my faves, Lewis Black; "Even a good fiction writer couldn't have come up with this."
The question is now: So, do I have to reinvent myself after all this time? The answer, yes...and no. With the job market bordering on chaos, and the collapse of both the industrial age as well as a good part of the information age, the reinvention of potentially our entire persona does become a consideration for some. At first glance, that statement can look completely overwhelming. But here's the trick.
However, if we believe that we are blessed in our lives and that more blessings are coming to us every day, then the Universe has a totally different image of our reality and reflects back blessings on a daily basis.
Just think of it as a movie screen and the film being projected onto that screen as being yourself, your beliefs. As soon as you change your beliefs that new imagine will then be the one reflected back to you.
I'm a musician of 40 years, as well as a composer for 30 of those years. Long story short, my chosen musical idiom in these times does not offer the rewards of a comfortable life without some serious, and I mean serious sacrifice. That sacrifice was OK in terms of myself. But after becoming a single Dad, my reality, my focus began to alter. For the first time ever I was considering a potential life change. Let's see, a day job... not a chance in hell. What can I do?
You may use prayer, which will work if you believe it does, or you may find repeating Affirmations suits you better. But with both prayer and Affirmations you need to already believe they are working for you. What if you don't believe they are working for you? Can you still use Affirmations to manifest your desires? The answer is yes.
There is a way of using Affirmations whereby you do not need to believe in the process because the belief is actually created by the process. Or it is a set of beliefs transferred onto another set of beliefs.
The process stems from NLP (Neural Linguistic Programming) and uses something called "pacing" and "leading" statements. To start with you Affirm things you already know to be true for example, "My name is... " "I live at... " two plus two equals four. "I am having a hard time right now".
