Natural Skin Care Tips

By Marianne R. Brown

Summer has come and gone, bringing about the start of fall and the need for a new natural skin care routine. During the fall season weather changes and the same skin care products you were using during warmer summer months may not be as effective in preventing dry skin and should be replaced. This fall switch to natural skin care products and try creating some of your own with the easy to make recipes below.[]

One thing that you should keep from your summer skin care routine is the use of sun screen. You may not be spending as many days next to the pool in the upcoming months but you will still be susceptible to sun damage. Be sure to protect yourself from a sunburn by using a natural skin care lotion that contains at least SPF 15 to moisturize and protect skin at the same time.

There are many other natural antioxidants in this special oil that protect your skin from potential damage from the environment including pollution, too much sun exposure and chemicals. One of its contents, Ferulic acid is rarely found in any oil. It protects you from harmful radiation of the sun where it works best.Polyphenols help fight the damage caused by over-exposure to the sun and promote skin repair. There are also the sterols that help in maintaining young looking and moisturized skin. Organic argan oil for skin care additionally helps keep your skin firm and elastic with all its essential fatty acid contents.

Although natural lotion alone is not enough to have great skin, without it you're pretty much going to miss the boat. No matter what other steps you take, you can't get rid of harsh weather conditions or the chemicals that pollute the air, and our skin. A good natural lotion for dry skin protects against the elements, prevents moisture loss while still allowing the skin to breath, reduces the absorption of toxins, and is free of toxic chemicals (some skin care ingredients are even worse than chemical pollutants.)

Banish Blackheads - In Style. This next blackhead mask requires a little more work but is nice treat for when you have time for an herbal mask.Oatmeal, egg white and parsley are used in this blackhead removing home remedy.Boil 1/2 cup water (it's understood that some water will be lost as steam).Turn off water at boil and add a 1/3 bunch of fresh parsley or 2 Tablespoons dried parsley and let steep for 15 minutes.Strain the liquid to filter out the parsley.

Pamper your skin and keep it hydrated during colder fall months with a weekly facial. Halloween and Thanksgiving aren't the only occasions for pumpkin, have it make an appearance in your own natural skin care mask. For an easy do it yourself pumpkin mask, just combine 1 cup of canned pumpkin mashed with an egg yolk and a few tablespoons of buttermilk. Then smooth the mixture onto your face and neck, letting sit for 30 minutes before rinsing.Skin care products have developed greatly since the ancient Egyptians started using natural ingredients back in 4th millennium BC. Use of natural ingredients such as bee venom (which incidentally has made a comeback in skin care), milk and honey to enhance their skin was well documented as were the many natural cosmetic ingredients found in our mothers and grandmothers kitchens such as oat masks and sugar rubs.

Then came the big guys. Obviously the Elizabeth Arden's and Helena Rubenstein's started out small but the timing was right; women had more disposable income, and sales and marketing departments were starting to pay attention to the wants and needs of women so suddenly a whole cosmetics industry sprang up.The cosmetics industry was, and still is, largely unmonitored and so they could add ingredients to their products and also make claims about them that may not have been in the best interests of their customers. A very frightening 90% of the 10,000+ cosmetic ingredients identified by the US Food and Drug Administration have never been checked for safety by any of the appropriate institutions. Most of them are probably perfectly safe, after all you never hear of people immediately dropping dead after applying face cream, we may very well be dying slowly from the use of the rest!

You might need to pick up some almond oil if it's something you don't normally use and while you're at the store get a nice, soft, ready-to-use avocado. To make this simple skin moisturizing mask use 1/2 to 1/3 of the avocado and mash it with four drops of almond oil and leave on your face for 30 minutes.

The avocado's delivers moisture that's rich in vitamins B and E.Absorb Away Oily Skin.Use this treatment twice a week to clean your skin and remove excess while maintaining healthy moisture levels.Mix into a paste an egg yolk, a 1/2 cup of oatmeal and 2 Tablespoons each of honey and olive oil.Apply to face and leave on for 20 minutes. The honey cleans and is naturally antibacterial, the oatmeal absorbs dirt and oil and the olive oil ensures healthful moisture is maintained.Lighten Spots And Even Out Melasma Patches.A natural home remedy for skin that's uneven in color is to take half a cup of fresh mashed papaya and mix with 2 Tablespoons of honey.

The use of specialised ingredients such as marine collagens, bee venom, and vitamins and minerals are being included in natural skin care ranges added in bases that can easily be absorbed by the skin and so now we are seeing a difference. These products are now not only pleasant to use but they will plump up skin, stimulate collagen and elastin production and as a result will reduce fine lines and make the skin look brighter and firmer. Generally the best of both worlds. So remember if it smells nice, step away from the cosmetic, and where possible use a natural product that incorporates active ingredients such as bee venom, marine collagens and vitamins and minerals.
