Managing A Restaurant Equipment Installation

By Danielle Galloway

Opening a business entails a lot of thought especially when setting up a food and drink establishment. You would need a restaurant equipment installation since there are many appliances and furniture that needs to be set in place. Aside from the cost of the installation, you would still need to think about the layout, permits, and others so here are few tips to remember to save several dollars.

There are companies that offer to do things in one go like the procurement of the necessary appliances, the design and layout of your establishment, the installation of appliances. They already have things needed for your shop, like ventilation ducts, commercial ovens, coolers, freezers, even chairs and tables. You can also buy your own equipment although acquiring them on your own might be exhausting and overwhelming.

Setting up a new business does not mean that all your apparatus must be new since it is very costly. Some stuff can be bought previously owned like tablecloths, chairs, dishes and tables, plus bigger furniture and machinery can be bought at a cheaper price. Unfortunately, they do not have warranties, but you might have freebies or haggle for a lesser price.

There are even companies and owners who are willing to lease their gadgets and you could save money if you take advantage of them. Ice cream machines, coffee makers, and coolers are ideal for leasing since they have short lifespan. You can save a bit of cash since you are not required to pay for maintenance and repairs.

Having a refrigeration system is very important for this line of business after all this is where you will store your food for some time before you prepare it. They can come in different sizes so take time to consider the best option for your place. The kind of food you are going to store and serve to the customer is also a factor in buying refrigerators.

Make sure to buy restaurant dishes and not kitchen dishes since these dishes are made to withstand heavy duty dishwashers. When opening a diner or cafe, the tables and chairs are part of your decor and should be made to last. Tablecloths also add an appeal to your establishment and could be a part of your brand image so make sure they are always clean, crisp and maintained.

Your kitchen will be stocked with different ingredients, tool, utensils, and others so make sure that you carefully layout the storage room and the kitchen area. Maximize the available space to ensure that the staff can work efficiently and smoothly. Plan the dining area thoroughly so that it can be reconfigured during parties to fit more people.

Before constructing a bar or a cocktail lounge, think about the size and concept first since bars usually have their own apparatus. Do not forget to get an alcohol license when setting a bar. You can also increase your sales by expanding your business to catering.

Although it can easily increase the sales, it also has its own of materials so it might be best to save up some money first before venturing to catering service. It needs a lot of organization and attention. It is still easier though to ask professional help when thinking of restaurant equipment installation.
