The lifestyles that many people today live require that they be on the move at all times. Some people may feel exhausted or lack energy in order to do all of their necessary tasks during the day. Caffeine is a natural, and quite popular, stimulant that is used in modern times. This is not considered the most healthy choice, but it is accessible and comes in a variety of forms. Caffeine works by stopping breakdown of chemical messengers that are found both outside and inside of cells. This stimulant can be habit forming. The substance found in this that helps boost alertness is known as synephrine, which is much like ephedra. This is also a stimulant, but different from caffeine. If using this as a natural supplement, do not take more than the recommended dosage.

CoQ10 is made by the body and is crucial to its functioning. It is located in the mitochondria of cells and is needed to produce ATP or adenosine triphosphate, the energy source for cells. There are also B vitamins. These are helpful in combating fatigue. There are eight vitamins that fall under this categorization and all are beneficial when it comes to energy and overall good health. These work best together. Many foods have been fortified to include B vitamins, but this is usually not enough for the body.

Bee pollen and amino acids are also helpful in this respect. There are nearly two dozen amino acids that are needed for the purpose of protein synthesis. Two acids are specifically helpful for improving alertness. Pollen, a super food, is among the top choices for energy supplements. It includes numerous enzymes, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, proteins and fiber.
