Have you ever wondered why your efforts of planning team building activities never work out the way you wanted them to be? You may be doing something wrong. Here are some of the reasons why they do not work.

Whining is a major problem. Some people love to whine. They love to complain about the smallest things. If you are doing an activity and someone complains, it can ruin the mood of the entire exercise. The best thing that you can do as a leader is to lighten the mood by inserting humor. You need to do your best to stop negativity from arising.

Some people hold back too much. While it is a fact that not everyone is the same and there are people who cannot express themselves too well, you should still encourage people to at least open up. Being open is a good way to bond the members together. If the members are too reserved, they will not be able to maximize the purpose of the team building activities. Break the walls that surround them by breaking yours. Open up and they will surely follow.

Tardiness is really a major problem. Not every worker is hands on and enthusiastic about what they're doing. Many people are tardy most likely since they're bored regarding their work. If an individual is tardy, he might join team development activities and so the effort is going to be futile. You have to cause them to become attend. Otherwise, mandate them to do this by providing some incentives. Sometimes, you have to discretely bribe people for his or her own good.

The event has too many dead airs. Dead airs are boring. If you are going to plan an event, you should make sure there are things going on a certain times. You can create breaks but not too many and not too long else your team will end up bored.
