Three Steps to Make Your Dreams into Reality

By Hal Neff

Everyone has a dream - numerous dreams actually - but few think that they could in fact attain them. Nevertheless, some people attain their own dreams while others live lives of regret. Some are motivated and follow through, while others hold off or give up completely on their dreams in exchange for whatever justifications they comfort themselves with.

Do you know the aspects that make that difference between the person who achieves and the one that regrets?

Listed below are 3 easy steps you can take to help you live the life of your dreams:

1 . Motivation. People have their own motivations for their dreams. Consider what drives you towards your goal. It might be financial freedom, more spare time, or a second home in the Caribbean. Whatever it is, help remind yourself of it on a daily basis.

For instance , having pictures of your dream Caribbean home hung on the refrigerator or in your office will remind you of your desire and renew your mind with motivation.

* Whenever you suffer inevitable challenges or frustration, an obvious reminder of your dream will help motivate you to do what is essential to get back on course toward objective.

It is also important to give yourself perks along the way. Rewarding yourself after making a breakthrough, such as acquiring a new client, learning a new computer program, or sharing a smile with your teenager, is totally necessary to successfully following through on your path to success.

Treat yourself to a good dinner, take the day off for a game of golf, or reward yourself with anything else you like. Your reward will give you a relaxing break from the trials and hardships on your path to success and provide you new energy to continue working toward your goal.

* Giving yourself a reward here and there along the way will reinvigorate your motivation with its good outcome.

2 . Planning. Although developing a systematic strategy may seem obvious if you want to achieve your goals, many people ignore or downplay this process and then wonder why they are not moving onward toward their goal. Make sure to take the time to plan your way for higher achievement!

* Once you have a broad strategy to reaching your goal, you should fine-tune all the details. Put it on paper, even if it's an emotional or psychological life goal, and figure out the ways necessary to make that goal a reality.

* Put a deadline on it. Place all excuses aside with a limited deadline for every step.

* Be realistic of your own skills.

Creating a realistic step-by-step plan with a deadline will bring your dream to life. Establishing definable little objectives to achieve on the way to your desired large aim will enable you to follow your plan through to success.

3. Action. Finally, no aspiration or goal may be accomplished without action. When you've developed your own plan as suggested, you will find that there are a number of small steps you have to take on a daily or irregular basis which will further you on your road to your ultimate goal.

* Your small steps give you the map to your treasure. Do something to follow your guide. Each step you complete brings you closer to your goal.

* Assess your actions and revise your map as necessary. In case a plan falls through, then be adaptable to change it until you find yourself back on the path to success.

Motivation, planning and action will enable you to create and live the life you've always wanted. It might take some time, but following these steps will direct you to success.
