Theology Forums To Become The Newest Support Group

By Claudette Lambert

We always have questions in our mind about the correct way to practice religion, about the origin of traditions and rituals and exactly what is said in the many Holy books that we have. Given that with our hectic schedules we do not have time to spend studying them and reading about it, our mind still questions the validity of many things that we see around us. To help us with this, we now have theology forums.

This is not a group of fanatics who have got together to raise more like them and create havoc in the world. Instead, these are people who want to learn more about their religion and their culture. Topics are posted on the websites and every member who wants to give his or her opinion or thought can post it there. There are no restrictions, unless someone uses abusive language, and it is a healthy give and take of interest.

Every religion has its group of researchers and so such groups too can be found for different religions. It is means by which like minded people can connect with each other, without any barriers or borders or nationalities and be able to talk to each other. The main purpose of these discussion sites is to encourage its members to understand the concepts and philosophies rather than blindly following traditions and rituals.

Anybody can become a member of such forums. There is no prohibition or restriction. You only need to be a seeker of knowledge to be allowed to participate. But extra measures are taken to ensure that the discussion does not become too heated or agitated, or that it does not lead to misinterpretation of facts or philosophies.

Such forums also become support groups for each of its members, and that is indeed a very beautiful thing. No man can live in isolation and we all seek comfort and solace from our friends and peers. To find it in such a group, where we discuss something so divine is actually very heartening. Over time we grow to trust our fellow members and are sure that in our tough times, no one would lead us astray with wrong advice.

Another big benefit of being part of such forums is that it helps you reaffirm your faith. We live in an age where everything is superficial and people make use of religion as a means to an end. It is very easy to be led to believe wrong things or to lose faith altogether.

But with such a support group as a backing, we can go back to discovering the comfort and peace that we find within. Not to mention that it is an excellent place to gather research material if you are a theology student.

Such theology forums are created by students, working people and even retired people. All the members on the various websites agree that participating in discussions about various topics is a very enriching experience and its gives them a sense of fulfillment.
