How We Use Sounds For Daily Affirmations

By Nurettin Buitenkamp

I am not talking here about the weak old affirmations of "I am getting better and better each and every day." I am talking about those power affirmations that are targeted, specific and zone in on exactly what it is you want to achieve or change.Affirmations are one way to convince your subconscious mind that what you want or desire is already in your possession. Once you can do this the floodgates open and what you desire or the change that you are trying to bring into effect comes into your life.

Some people use daily affirmations to help them find the confidence to face the day. These are, after all, sounds in another format. Everything we hear is sound. It's the meaning we attach to it that causes our emotions to run high or to flatten out to a tranquil state. So to find those sounds that have the best effect is essential to finding affirmations that work.Have you ever heard how it doesn't matter what you say to a baby because it's the tone in which you say it? This has the same effect on us if we can't understand what the meaning behind the words is. I remember hearing a beautifully intoned phrase in German and thinking it must be something beautiful. It turned out to mean "we're having some really shocking weather".

To reinforce positive words, we use as affirmations we can use them against a backdrop of music or sounds that have a positive effect on us. For some it will be Beethoven's powerful music. Others will prefer the dulcet tones of Enya. Still more will want to relax to the sound of waves lapping on the shore.

Affirmations, like any personal growth exercise, take repeated practice. In order to feel differently, you must think differently. Affirmations allow you to think about yourself in a new way. Positive affirmations are like a reset button, allowing you to dismiss the thoughts or beliefs that don't enrich your vision of who you are.

Thanks to the work of early pioneers, such as Paul Nordoff and Clive Robbins in the 40s and 50s, the world of science is only just beginning to recognize the significance of music as a psychological tool. As a result, music therapy and various forms of sound therapy are developing as disciplines in their own right.

The first thing to realize is that positive daily affirmations are designed to sit in your subconscious mind. They aren't things that you will want to dwell on during the day, you want them to sit tucked away where you won't see them constantly, at least where you know about. They are designed to reside under the top layers of your brain, in order to reprogram the way that your mind views things.

A few decades ago, television advertising gurus decided to work on subliminal messages. You would be happily watching a show on the television and a picture of a hamburger from a major chain would pop up on the screen and go away so fast that the mind wouldn't even register that it happened. However, the subconscious mind did see it. Your subconscious could take that picture and dwell on it, causing your active mind to crave that hamburger. Actively, you never knew where you got the idea from in the first place, you just knew it was something you wanted and craved. Positive daily affirmations are the same way. They sit in your subconscious mind, where they slowly spread to the rest of your mind.

A man in control is a successful man, also. With the use of positive daily affirmations, you can show the world that you are a success in your own right. Look around you and reinforce the successes that you have achieved in life, no matter how small, to help you create affirming statements that help you understand you are successful. You may have a great family, you may be rich, or you may own your own house; any of these things can be considered a success. By projecting your successes to the people around you, you are projecting a sense of self-worth and value. Build your positive daily affirmations using these examples to prove to yourself that you are a successful person. Setting up a routine of positive daily affirmations that play upon your strengths, you will exhibit to the world that you a man who is under control of everything around him. When people around you see the success and control you portray, they will respond to you with the respect you deserve. Remember that respect comes first from within, before you can receive it from others. Let your positive daily affirmations help you gain that respect.

Daily affirmations are a very effective way to quickly change your life and start living your dreams by attracting prosperity and abundance. But, it is important that you understand how daily affirmations work and what you need to do to make them more effective.Daily affirmations work with both your conscious and subconscious mind to change your thinking and your reality. Many times people get stuck in the negative energy that surrounds us. It is easy to fall into the trap of dwelling on negative thoughts that are put in our mind.

As you can see, there is much more to positive daily affirmations than just reading a few "feel good" books. You must understand that all of the work takes place in your subconscious mind, and that they require no further overt help from you. When the affirmations seep into your mind, your mind will do the rest, causing you to see the results but not have to work so hard for them. That is how your positive daily affirmations will help you change the world, one mind at a time.
